Troops from the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion uncovered last Thursday evening several pieces of unexploded ordnance (UXO) put on a sack in the vicinity of Barangay Buayan in Datu Piang, Maguindanao.

At around 10:40 PM, patrolling personnel from 6IB spotted the said UXO (Rifle Grenade).

The military immediately sealed off the area, while 6IB requested that the explosives be appropriately disposed of by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EODT).

The UXO could have been used to make IEDs to scare the people of Maguindanao, according to Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of Joint Task Force Central and the 6th Infantry Division.

Its timely finding has aided in our fight against terrorism and the maintenance of peace and order in South and Central Mindanao once again.
