Soldiers in Sultan Kudarat drop leaflets in NPA-affected areas in time for Christmas

Troops from the 37th Infantry “Conqueror” Battalion dropped leaflets by air in Communist Terrorist Group-affected communities in the far-flung barangays of Kalamansig, and Palimbang, both of Sultan Kudarat, on December 27, 2020.

The pamphlets provided pertinent information on government initiatives that NPA members and supporters who lay down their firearms and live normal lives might take advantage of.

The pamphlets also encourage CTG members to visit their family throughout the Christmas season.

Given that the 6th Infantry “Kampilan” recently completed a large operation in the NPA-lairs located in the mountainous hills in the tri-boundaries of Palimbang, Kalamansig, and SNA, all in Sultan Kudarat, the leaflet distribution was quite timely.

The operation, which included aerial bombardment, had already discovered and destroyed the CTG’s Far South Mindanao Region’s major encampment, as well as inflicting multiple deaths on the rebels.

MGen Juvymax Uy, the Commander of 6ID and JTF Central, appealed to the remaining rebels to come down, take advantage of the government’s program for rebel-returnees, and enjoy Christmas with their families and loved ones.
