After being arrested by forces in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, on December 31, 2020, a medical team from the 38th Infantry (WE CLEAR) Battalion rescued the life of a wounded rebel.

Elmer Lasib alias ‘Billy’ Ka Bodo, also known as ‘Ka Bogs,’ a former Commanding Officer of Front West Musa, was captured as a communist [New People’s Army (NPA)] terrorist.

Troops apprehended Lasib at 3:45 p.m., hours before the New Year’s celebration, while scouring Sitio Upper Compac in Barangay Batang Baglas in the aforementioned town.

As a result, after receiving first aid from the army medical staff, the aforementioned personality is currently in a stable situation.

Meanwhile, on December 30, 2020, the barangay officials of Brgy. Wasag in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, detained another alleged CTG. The said individual, identified as Jomary Bemeh Kamsa of Barangay Lemomay in T’boli, South Cotabato, broke the curfew in the said barangay.

The purported CTG was given over to the headquarters of the 38th IB for proper documentation by barangay officials.

Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of the 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division and Joint Task Force Central, urged the surviving members of the CNT to lay down their guns and live peaceful and normal lives in order to avoid unnecessary deaths.

“Those who will persist in deterring peace, we will continue to pursue you, and we will use all government forces to run after you” Maj. Gen. Uy said.
