Philippine Army’s 53IB, Lakewood LGU converge for infra projects

In line with its aim for a world-class Army that is a source of national pride, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), on July 12, 2021, met with Lakewood mayor Domingo Mirrar to discuss infrastructure projects in the municipality.

The following topics were discussed: the groundbreaking of housing for Indigenous Peoples (IPs) in Barangay Dagum, Lakewood; the spillway in Barangay Baking, Lakewood; security assistance for the road opening in Purok 3, Sitio Lanayan, Barangay Gasa, Lakewood; and the publication of the book Breaking Free.

Convergence with Local Chief Executives (LCEs) to improve residents’ lives is part of the 53IB’s mission to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
