Army, LGU conduct community engagement activities in far-flung community

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and 1st CMO “Mahigalaon” Battalion (1CMOBn) conducted community engagement activities in the hinterland barangay of Salvador, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Suron July 10-13, 2021.

House-to-house visits were made by Matapat and Mahigalaon Troopers in Puroks 1, 2, and 3 of the abovementioned Barangay to learn about the community’s way of life and culture, as well as to inform them of any suspected Communist-NPA terroristic activities.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
