Army, LGU promote clean and green environment, participates in tree-planting in far-flung community

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and 1st CMO “Mahigalaon” Battalion (1CMOBn) took part in a tree-planting program in Salvador, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on July 16, 2021.

The activity was held in collaboration with the Barangay Salvador Youth Association, which is led by Youth President Ms. Geselle Ann Cruz, and SK President Mr. Charlie Pacaro. Its goal is to keep the barangay’s clean and green project going while also empowering Filipino youngsters.

This effort is part of the 53IB’s goal of becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
