Philippine Army’s 53IB, LGU step up Adopt-a-CAFGU Program in Midsalip

On July 15, 2021, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the Municipal Government of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur stepped up 53IB’s “Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program” by holding a medical mission and serbisyo caravan for CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) and their dependents at Guitalos Barangay Hall of the aforementioned municipality.

The CAAs, their dependents, and residents of Barangay Guitalos were given a free operation tuli, medical checkup, haircut, and family planning materials.

53IB Alpha “Archers” Company Commander 1Lt. Janryl Gumalad, 53IB Alpha Company Executive Officer 1Lt. Jay Mar Paderes, Representative of Mayor of Midsalip Edhel June Pasto, Midsalip Chief of Police PMaj. Juvic Aballe, and Dr. Janine Ann Pangandian participated in the event.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
