Philippine Army’s 53IB, LGU advance Adopt-a-CAFGU Project in Dumingag

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the Municipal Government of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur advanced 53IB’s “Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program” for CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) at 53IB’s Bravo Company Command Post headquartered in the said barangay on July 15, 2021.

The CAAs, their dependents, and the residents of Barangay Datu Tutukan benefited from the activities, which included free check-ups and medicine distribution, operation tuli, dental missions, PHILARPAT uniform distribution, and food distribution.

Dumingag Mayor Joan Abejuela, ABC President Jerson Cabahug, MHO Dra Ju Kanra Panugao, Barangay Chairwoman Merlita Galcon, staff from the Municipal Planning and Development Office, a representative from the Dumingag Police Station, and 53IB Bravo “Boulders” Company Commander 1Lt. Niel Kim Garcia were among those who spearheaded the activity.

This effort is part of the 53IB’s goal of becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
