Army’s CAFGU Active Auxiliaries vaccinated vs COVID-19 in Midsalip

On July 23, 2021, the CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) received COVID-19 vaccination at Midsalip Central School, Poblacion Midsalip, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur.

Vaccination was given to ten (10) Matapat Troopers deployed to Unidos, Cabaluran, and Pisompongan.

This effort is part of the 53IB’s goal of becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).

The Philippines now has 1,548,755 confirmed COVID-19 cases after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 5,479 new cases on Sunday, July 25.

The DOH reported 93 new deaths due to the coronavirus disease, bringing the death toll to 27,224, while the recoveries are up by 5,573, raising total recoveries to 1,467,269.

Of the total cases, 54,262 or 3.5% are active.

Philippine health authorities also bared on Sunday that it so far detected 55 more cases of the highly transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19 to bring the country’s total to 119.
