Philippine Army’s 53IB, Zamboanga del Sur LGU press on ‘Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program’

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the Municipal Government of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur pressed on 53IB’s “Better Life: Adopt-a-CAFGU Program” for CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) at Bolisong Patrol Base in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur on July 26, 2021.

The CAAs of Bolisong Patrol Base received 15 and 1/2 sacks of food and other supplies from the LGU led by Kumalarang Mayor Ruel “Balong” Molina. He also recommended that they acquire COVID-19 vaccines.

The CAAs were also given uniforms by the Matapat Troopers, led by 53IB Charlie Company Commander 1Lt. Alvin Ibarra, to promote their morale and well-being. PCpl Rikko Laputa and PCpl Sina Mandulin of the Kumalarang Police Station, as well as SB Members Mark Kevin Roferos, Sandy Bualan, Abdulgani Edris, and Rolando Jayme, were present at the event.

This effort is part of the 53IB’s goal of becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
