Delegates from the (tag) Makati Medical Center Foundation paid a courtesy call on Vice Adm. Adeluis Bordado, Philippine Navy Flag Officer In Command, at the PN headquarters on July 30, and then handed over the donated pandemic wellness kits to be used by the Command in its ongoing response to COVID-19.
Medical and disaster response goods such as pulse oximeters, thermometers, UV light sanitizers, face masks, face shields, and first aid kits were among the donated items.
MMC Foundation executive director Ms. Mary Margaret Barro led the delegation, which also included retired Col. Achilles Estravila, AFP Affairs program consultant, and Ms. Gladys Baniqued, Israel MASHAV program officer.
During the program, Ms. Barro informed Navy Chief Bordado about their foundation’s current initiatives and upcoming projects in conjunction with the PN.
The establishment of the Philippine Navy Medical Information Computerized System (PN MEDICS) – a computerized system that can facilitate a faster and more reliable generation of medical records that is now deployed to Philippine Fleet medical units – is one of the highlight projects that resulted from this partnership.
All of this, according to Barro, is an MMC way of expressing gratitude for our military personnel’s selfless commitment to the country.
Navy Chief Bordado, for his part, expressed his heartfelt thanks on behalf of the entire organization for the MMC Foundation’s unwavering generosity, which encourages PN personnel to accomplish their jobs better.
The provided medical kits from MMC Foundation will undoubtedly benefit our PN troops, particularly those on the frontlines of the continuing COVID-19 conflict, since their safety and physical well-being are critical.
This initiative exemplifies the excellent outcomes of the PN’s long-standing relationship with private-sector stakeholders.
