The Project Good Life of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the Inner Wheel Club of Yllana Bay inked the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Project Nurture last July 24 at Good Life Village, Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.
Project Nurture is a holistic care for the children of Friends Rescued (FRs) through the monitoring of nutritional status, provision of basic needs and vitamins, and the sharing of the Gospel.
In his message, 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera expressed his gratitude to the Inner Wheel Club of Yllana Bay for their commitment to improve the children’s lives.
“I express our heartfelt gratitude to your the Inner Wheel Club’s commitment to improve the lives of the children of our FRs. With this partnership, not only will we be able to holistically transform FRs but their children as well,” said Lt. Col. Herrera.
Meanwhile, Inner Wheel Club of Yllana Bay president Ms. Evelyn Salinding said in her message of support that this partnership is a step toward improving the lives of the children.
“Project Nurture aims to provide, preserve, and promote the well-being of the children amid this time of pandemic. We hope this project will be of significant help to the children of the FRs,” said Ms. Salinding.
Inner Wheel Club Vice-President Ms. Zenaida Obaob also thanked the 53IB for the opportunity to serve the FRs and their children, with the Past District Chairwoman Ms. Jane Ortiz pledging her support and commitment to Project Nurture.
With this, Project Good Life President Dr. Moibe Olitres said that Project nurture is another essential milestone for project good life.
“This is valuable in expounding the experiential learning in the context of human development and parenting of our friends rescued and their children,” said Dr. Moibe Olitres.
Project Nurture will be conducted at the Halfway House beside 53IB Headquarters in Barangay Poblacion, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur once a month, for a period of one (1) year starting July 24, 2021.
