The Philippine Army together with the United States Army completed Ph-US “Salaknib” Exercise 2021 today, July 31, 2021 at Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.
The Ph-US “Salaknib” Exercise 2021 is a three-week bilateral Army-to-Army exercise composed of 15 training events including urban operations, intelligence, combat engineers operations, indirect fires, medical planning, counter-IED, Military Police operations, K-9 operations, sustainment and CBRN development joined by 400 Army personnel.
The exercise aims to develop the Philippine Army’s capabilities by training in various warfighting functions all geared to achieving combined arms approach in any type of mission.
After the exercise, soldiers from both countries expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to train with each other amidst the pandemic situation. With the continuation of the Visiting Forces Agreement, both armies expect to continue with the exercise in the coming years.
