Gallant Troopers conducts feeding program in Patikul, Sulu

The 45IB (Gallant Troopers) army led by LTC Vicente B. Mabborang Jr. INF GSC PA, relaunched the Feeding Program for the residents of Brgy. Tugas, Patikul, Sulu.

The feeding program is frequently done to alleviate the impact of pandemic (COVID-19) in the said area. It also aims to maintain and provide adequate nutrition to the residents particularly the children.

Following that, medals were given to Gallant Troopers who had proved their abilities in their sworn duty.

The Gold Cross Medal was awarded to 2LT Reymar M. Lauron (CE) PA, SGT Edgardo D. Gayao (INF) PA, and CPL Charlie U. Macutob (INF) PA, who bravely fought the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) under the leadership of Mudzrimar Sawadjaan resulting in the death of some of its members.

SGT Jerry Pons (INF) PA and PFC Jasfen Joseph C. Lanterno (INF) PA were honored with the Bronze Cross Medal for their abilities which resulted in the surrender of two (2) members of the bandit group.

Certificates of Appreciation were also given to TSG Charlie D. Guiwo (INF) PA, SSG Marcelino T. Madamba Jr. (INF) PA, and PFC Christian R. Visconde (INF) PA for the invaluable performance of duty that brought honor to the unit. The awarding of such awards is proof that the unit values ​​the morale of the army and the high level of efficiency of each Gallant Trooper.

After the awarding ceremony was the warm welcome to the new members of 45IB-Gallant.

The said reception was illuminated by the coupling of the 45IB-Gallant Patch to the new members. In LTC Mabborang Jr’s speech, he emphasized the importance of the events starting with the awards, reception and installation of the unit patch. He also reminded the entire troop of the importance of each member of the battalion by saying, “Hindi kayo nasa 45IB, kayo ang 45IB.”

In the evening, the entire troop of Gallant Troopers happily celebrated the 3rd Quarterly Socials attended by Hon. Mayor Kabir E. Hayudini of Patikul with his good wife and dentist son.

Patikul-ELAC members also attended in conjunction with peace projects. This celebration also symbolizes the strong association of Team Patikul and Gallant Troopers.
