The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) delivered transistor radios obtained from the Rotary Club of Pasay Cyber City to the hinterland barangay of Salvador in Dumingag town, Zamboanga del Sur on August 11, 2021, as part of its ongoing community involvement programs.

The radios are part of a set of 60 RRS RS-902 Transistor Radios provided by the Rotary Club of Pasay Cyber City to help the city maintain its information dominance in the countryside.

Transistor radios play an important role in keeping families in remote barangays informed about current events, as most of them have no other means of obtaining information.
