Army visits disadvantaged communities, provides youngsters with slippers

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and 1st CMO “Mahigalaon” Battalion (1CMOBn) continue to perform community engagement efforts in Dumingag town, Zamboanga del Sur’s hinterland barangay of Salvador on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

The Matapat and Mahigalaon Troopers presented the slippers in cooperation with Barangay Officials led by Barangay Chairman Luisito Cruz. The footwear benefited 83 children in the neighborhood.

This effort is part of the 53IB’s goal of becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
