Philippine Navy through Naval Forces Central Exercise Directorate Headquarters led the conduct of maritime operations utilizing surface events components of NFC at vicinity waters of Camotes Sea. PN reserve participants boarded naval vessels morning of August 17, 2021, Tuesday.
Navy participating units are the following naval vessels: BRP BATAK (LC299), BRP ABRAHAM CAMPO (PC396), BRP ALFREDO PECKSON (PC372), BRP ENRIQUE JURADO (PC371), BRP FILIPINO FLOJO (PC386), BRP FORT SAN FELIPE (AGS700), and 5th Patrol Boat Division (PB359, PB356, and PB358).
Capt. Raul A. Regis PN(GSC), the Deputy Commander, NFC, Commander, Naval Task Force 50 and Exercise Director led the surface events onboard LC299. Part of the exercise was the Gun Exercise (GUNNEX) event wherein navy surface assets tested and fired their naval guns. PN reservists were able to experience firing of the naval guns in their designated navy ships.
Moreover, the participating navy ships conducted the following events: Sortie Out; Photo Exercise; Maritime Surveillance; Division Tactics; and Visit, Board, Search, & Seizure. Conduct of said activities enables and develops the Navy reservists on maritime operations in order to train and integrate to the regular force.
The activities during the said visit were conducted with the strict observance of the health and biosafety protocols posed by IATF to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
