Philippine Army’s 53IB partakes in tree planting activity in Kumalarang

The Municipal Government of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur and the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) participated on Thursday (August 26, 2021) in a tree-planting activity at Sicade Reforestation Area, Barangay Sicade, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur to promote a clean and green environment.

Kumalarang mayor Ruel Molina organized the event, which was attended by 53IB’s Charlie Company, led by 1Lt. Alvin Ibarra, Kumalarang PNP, Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), and other agencies and stakeholders.

This initiative is part of the 53IB’s efforts to strategically articulate the Army’s transformation into a world-class force that will be a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
