PCG, US Coast Guard conducts joint maritime exercise in Subic

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and United States Coast Guard (USCG) conducted a Joint Maritime Exercise in the waters of Subic Bay, Zambales on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

In addition to vessel communication, there was also training in search and rescue (SAR), small boat operation, multi-vessel maneuvering, and emergency response, specifically on fire incidents onboard and man overboard.

Assets under the Task Force Pagsasanay participated, including BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301, BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407), BRP Capones (MRRV-4404), PCG-manned BFAR vessel BRP Lapu-Lapu (MMOV-5001), and the Coast Guard Aviation Force airbus helicopter CGH-1451.

Meanwhile, the USCG Cutter Munro (WMSL 755) and its Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Scan Eagle represented the USCG.

This initiative aims to strengthen MARITIME SECURITY and improve law enforcement interoperability of PCG and USCG in the vast Philippine waters.
