PCG conducts evacuation and rescue operations in Batangas amid Tropical Storms Jolina, Kiko

The Deployable Response Groups (DRGs) of Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL) on Wednesday (September 8, 2021) conducted evacuation and rescue operations for residents of Barangays in San Isidro, Batangas City, due to Tropical Storms “Jolina” and “Kiko.”

Ten (10) adults, including one (1) person with disability (PWD), three (3) senior citizens, and three (3) children, were successfully evacuated and rescued by CGDSTL DRGs.

The severe Tropical Storm “Jolina” maintains its strength while moving northwestward over Batangas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather update on September 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Typhoon “Kiko” slightly intensifies as it moves west southwestward over the Philippine Sea.

Everyone is encouraged to follow all necessary precautions to safeguard their lives and property. Residents who live in a high-risk or even dangerous location are recommended to heed local officials’ advice.
