In a virtual signing ceremony on September 14, Lieutenant General Erickson Gloria, AFP Vice Chief of Staff, signs a partnership agreement with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) on behalf of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The agreement will assist the AFP and major services personnel in generating support for the AFP’s gender mainstreaming programs. Gender-responsive policies will be developed as part of the agreement to mainstream gender and development within the AFP.

It will enable PCW to carry out its purpose of providing proactive technical assistance to sectors that play significant roles in the implementation of the Magna Carta of Women, with the AFP being one of the primary agencies in the Peace and Security Sector.

Women in the military, police, and other comparable services will be granted the same privileges and opportunities as men, including salary raises, additional remunerations, benefits, and awards, under the terms of the agreement.
