The Philippine Navy’s Flagships, the Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Jose Rizal (FF150) and BRP Manobo (LC297), work together to save four stranded fishermen off the coast of Mariveles, Bataan.

The Commanding Officer of LC297 promptly maneuvered and came to the help of the distressed motorized fishing boat after receiving a radio call from the Acting Commanding Officer FF150 on Thursday, September 16, 2021.

CDR Danish M. Ruiz PN, Commanding Officer of the BRP Manobo (LC297), led the successful rescue of four crew members from the FB Jhon and Jane.

Joshua Matugas, Rainiel Castillo, John Rollie Soliman, and Roger Valencia, all of Naic, Cavite, were rescued. Due to engine failure or malfunction, the rescued fisherman were stranded for two and a half days.

The presence of the Philippine Navy assets across the country, the vigilance of their sailors and their prompt response to any maritime situation help secure the country’s seas and prevent the unnecessary loss of lives.
