As part of its “Better Life: Adopt a CAFGU Project,” the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur and its Rural Health Unit (RHU), conducted a mobile vaccination and medical mission at Barangay Pisompongan Covered Court.
The said initiative benefited the CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs) securing Barangay Pisompongan and its adjacent barangays such as barangays Piwan, Pili, Balonai, and Dakayakan.
Midsalip mayor Elmer Soronio and Midsalip Police Chief PMaj. Juvic Aballe took part in the mobile immunization and medical mission. Municipal Health Officer Dr. Janine Ann Pangandian and 53IB’s Alpha Company Commander 1Lt. Janryl Gumalad also were present in the activity.
Vaccination against COVID-19, a free medical check-up, and operation tuli were among the activities.
The “Better Life: Adopt a CAFGU Project” is one of this unit’s best practices and forms part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028, as outlined in the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
