The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and 547th Engineer “Agila” Battalion (547EBn) took part in a Mass Bloodletting Activity with the theme “Imong Dugo, Makasalbar ug Kinabuhi” in Barangay Pisompongan, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur.

The Municipal Government of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur, along with its Rural Health Unit (RHU), spearheaded the bloodletting effort.

Midsalip is a previously conflicted municipality comprising four (4) previously conflicted barangays next to Barangay Pisompongan, namely Balonai, Cabaluran, Duelic, and Piwan — all of which were proclaimed “clean” of CPP-NPA influence in 2019.
