The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Midsalip Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) distributed Starter Toolkits to students to produce organic fertilizer, produce organic concoctions and extracts, and raise organic small ruminants as part of its Special Training for Employment Program in Barangay Noburan in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.
Knapsack sprayers, weighing scales, round shovels, plastic pails, and wheel barrows were included in the starter kits.
Ms. Maria Fronie Dalid from the TESDA Provincial Office; Provincial Training Coordinator Engr. Juancho Lazo; Ms. Susan Relacion as a representative of Labangan Mayor Eduardo Relacion; Noburan Barangay Captain Bonifacio Dag-uman; and 53IB Alpha Company Commander 1Lt. Janryl Gumalad took part in the distribution.
Barangay Noburan was previously devastated by warfare and is now part of the Barangay Development Program. In April 2019, it was declared “clear” of CPP-NPA influence.
