Vice Adm. Adeluis Bordado, Flag Officer In Command of the Philippine Navy (PN), held an inaugural virtual conference with Vice Adm. Michael Noonan, Royal Australian Navy (RAN), on Tuesday, September 28.

Ensuring a safe, free and open Indo-Pacific as among the PN and RAN’s mutual and shared interests was the centerpiece of the discussion between the two navy leaders.

Also discussed was the strengthening of ties between the two nations through training and exercises.

This virtual meeting followed the arrival of three RAN vessels to the country for the Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2021, Australia’s flagship annual engagement activity. The PN is actively participating in this endeavour through Capt. Constancio Reyes serving as the task group’s deputy commander and two other PN officers.
