AFP hosts Foreign Armed Forces Attaché meeting

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) hosted the 3rd Quarter Foreign Armed Forces Attaché (FAFA) Brief on 30 September 2021 at the Army Intelligence Regiment (AIR) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The activity was organized by the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, J2 headed by Major General Alex Luna.

It aims to apprise the members of the FAFA Corps on the current security situation in the country.

Present were 21 Defense Attaches, Assistant Defense Attaches/Secretary, and Service Attaches. Among represented countries were Australia, Brunei, China, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, United States, and Vietnam.

Likewise, 10 Non-Resident Attaches accredited to the Philippines joined via video teleconferencing; Bangladesh, Canada, France, Germany, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, United Kingdom and Netherlands.

Also in attendance were the AFP Intelligence community composed of officers from the Intelligence Service AFP, Intel Chiefs of the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force and Philippine Navy, as well as their respective operating units; AIR, 300th Air Intelligence and Security Wing, and Naval Intelligence and Security Force.

The event was the second round of gathering for the FAFAs since the 1st Quarter FAFA Brief and after several community quarantines in the National Capital Region the previous months.

It was conducted with strict adherence to health protocols as required by the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID19.
