The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) reviewed the continuing construction of Barangay Development Program (BDP) projects in Barangay Dampalan, Pagadian City, to ensure that development and progress are not delayed.

Through the Army’s Community Support Program (CSP), Barangay Dampalan was declared “clear” of CPP-NPA terrorist influence in March 2019. The Barangay is a recipient of 20-million-pesos-worth of infrastructure projects for the construction of the barangay’s bridge and farm-to-market road.

The BDP is the flagship program of Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) which was conceptualized to finally address insurgency by bringing sustainable solutions and basic services to communities in need.
