Naval Forces Central successfully conducts joint buy-bust operation

Naval Forces Central, together with other law enforcement agencies in the city of Lapu-Lapu confiscated illegal drugs (locally known as shabu) with an estimated value of P42 million and arrested three high value targets/drug personalities during the successful conduct of two buy-bust operations in Sangi Road, Brgy. Pajo and Sitio Mustang, Brgy. Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu last October 1, 2021.

The successful joint counteraction operation (JCAO) was made possible by the joint efforts of NFC, Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Unit/City Drug Enforcement Unit (CIU/CDEU), Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 7, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) 7, Visayas Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (VISCOM, AFP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 – Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET).

Confiscated illegal drugs were turned-over to RSET – PDEA 7 for proper disposition. Said operation was witnessed by Hon. Alvin Berezo, Councilor of Brgy Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, Mr. Norman Mendoza, media representative, and Mr. Rionel DC Dela Cuz, National Prosecution – Department of Justice (NPS-DOJ).

The JCAO was a successful implementation of the Anti-illegal Drug Campaign and helped address the drug menace in the country. The Command, together with other Law Enforcement agencies, continues ensuring peace, order, safety, and security in the Visayas Regions.
