Up to 430 women underwent the convening ceremony of the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 87-2021 at the regional training center of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental yesterday, October 21, 2021.

Led by CG Lieutenant Commander Raymond James N. Torremonia, the trainees will embark on six months of military drills and training on basic soldiery.

They also need to learn the ‘customs and traditions’ of the PCG as the country’s ‘third armed service.’

Prior to joining the convening ceremony, the trainees passed a medical evaluation and health assessment declaring that they were ‘physically fit’ and able to undergo tests within the training center.
