Philippine Army’s 53IB provides disaster relief, rescue operations during landslide in Lakewood

After a landslide happened at Purok 2, Barangay Gatub, Lakewood Zamboanga del Sur on October 20, 2021, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion undertook disaster relief and rescue operations.

53IB’s Charlie Company Executive Officer 2Lt Magno Relado Jr., and other Matapat Troopers, along with Lakewood PNP commanded by PLt. Elvin Rosales, offered assistance and protection near the landslide.

According to the report, the landslide destroyed many vehicles and left two people injured, who were taken to the hospital for treatment right afterwards.
