9IB troopers recover weapons in a clash with CNTs in Camarines Sur

On October 19, 2021, operating forces of the 9th Infantry “Sandigan” Battalion (IB) discovered weapons from CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) at Sitio Kabot, Brgy. Panaytayan Nuevo, Ragay, Camarines Sur.

Soldiers seized a 9-mm pistol, one magazine, a cellphone, and other personal items after the gunfight, with no reported casualties on the side of 9IB, which is part of the 9th Infantry Division.

Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino, the Philippine Army’s Commanding General, praised the 9IB troopers’ performance in combating threats in their area of operation.

“I commend you for your steadfast commitment in fulfilling our mandate to serve the people and secure the land,” said Lt. Gen. Centino.
