Following a productive courtesy visit by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Eastern Samar led by CG Commander Johansan Fabilane to Governor Ben Evardone on October 26, 2021, the PCG will establish a Regional Training Center in Eastern Samar.

CG Commander Fabilane submitted the PCG’s plan to build a regional training center in the province during the meeting.

The goal of the project is to recruit and train citizens of Eastern Samar and other provinces in the region, minimizing the need for them to go to Luzon for Coast Guard training.

Governor Evardone endorsed the initiative wholeheartedly and instructed Dolores Mayor Niño Carpeso to grant the PCG’s request for land to house the infrastructure project.
