3ID foils planned CTG attack, recovers war materials in Negros Occidental

The Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division disrupted the Communist Terrorist Group’s (CTG) planned attack and extortion activities in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

In response to information from a concerned citizen concerning CTG elements in Sitio Tiyos, Barangay Quitin Remo, combined forces from 3ID’s 62nd and 79th Infantry Battalions clashed with 25 CTG members.

Operating troops witnessed fleeing rebels dragging away their wounded comrades during the ensuing one-hour firefight, which caused in heavy losses on the enemy side.

At the encounter scene, troops discovered three backpacks, two cellphones, four cooking pots, and other combat equipment.

Two soldiers gave their lives in the fight against communist terrorists as they defended the community.

The Philippine Army recognizes the sacrifice of soldiers who have given their life to safeguard the people from state foes.
