The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Saturday, November 6, 2021, rescued two individuals from a distressed motorbanca in the waters between Romblon and Masbate.

According to Jovy Dilao, 43, and Junrey Capinig, 20, who have been identified as the rescued individuals, they left Pugawan, San Andres, Quezon and had engine difficulty while traveling to San Pascual, Burias, Masbate.

The PCG and Bantay Dagat performed search and rescue (SAR) operations near Cajidiocan, Romblon, and Mandaon, Masbate, and noticed the troubled motorbanca.

The united SAR crew maneuvered the distressed motorbanca towards the shoreline of Cajidiocan after establishing that Dilao and Capinig were in good physical condition.

The PCG sent an engine mechanic to repair the damaged motorbanca’s engine and urged the rescued individuals to embark into the sea as soon as the weather permitted to reach their destination.
