Army reservists from the 1105th Community Defense Center’s 1105th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion responded to the flooding incident in Matian Gravahan, Davao City, on November 10, when a nonstop rain caused the Davao River to overflow.

Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino, the Philippine Army’s Commanding General, has issued instructions on how to improve the Army’s reserve force as an effective complement to regular troops.

The Army’s leadership, according to Lt. Gen. Centino, is dedicated to establishing a capable and quickly mobilizable reserve force whose principal duties include humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and other non-combat roles.
