Residents of Barangay Mabuhay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur benefited from a medical mission carried by Army reservists from the 1502nd Community Defense Center on Friday, November 12.

The medical mission was carried out by the reservists with the assistance of representatives from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Normal University-Mindanao, and Communication Link Emergency Assistance Network in support of the Prosperidad municipal government’s localized peace engagement program.

Meanwhile, the Headquarters Company of the 1502nd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion took part in the Talacogon municipal government’s tree-planting activity, bloodletting drive, and immunization campaign on Saturday, November 13. The activities were part of Talacogon’s Pangadu Festival’s annual commemoration.

The Philippine Army has been growing its reserve force as an efficient complement to its regular forces, through the Army Reserve Command.

The Philippine Reservists Act, also known as Republic Act 7077, requires reserve units to help in disaster relief and rescue activities as well as socio-economic development projects.
