The operating forces of the 50th Infantry Battalion (50IB) on Saturday, November 13, overran a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) encampment in the Kalinga hinterlands following a 35-minute confrontation that resulted in the killing of a communist terrorist and the capture of war material.

After obtaining information regarding their reported presence in Barangay Bagtayan, Pasil, Kalinga, 50IB forces encountered 15 members of the Komiteng Larangang Guerilla (KLG)-BAGGAS.

An M16 rifle, two magazines, 25 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, a bandolier, a transistor radio, and other personal items were discovered by troops. Julio Dumalyong alias “Poli” of Barangay Tanglag, Lubuagan, Kalinga was recognized by Kalinga police as the deceased.

In prior statements, Army Commanding General and currently AFP Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino stated that the Army is committed to ending the decades-long insurgency problem within the 2022 deadline set by the Commander-in-Chief.
