13 Abu Sayyaf members yield in Sulu

On November 15, 2021, 13 members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) formally surrendered at the 1103rd Infantry Brigade Headquarters in Barangay Bon-Bon, Patikul, Sulu.

Patikul, Sulu Mayor Kabir Hayudini, and 11th Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. William Gonzales received ten M1 Garand rifles, two M16 rifles, one M79 GL with one round 40mm ammo, and one 9mm pistol.

Army Commanding General and current AFP Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Andres Centino previously directed Army forces to increase intelligence operations and capabilities in order to neutralize state foes.

177 ASG members surrendered to authorities between January and October 2021; 27 were killed in encounters, while 23 were captured.
