A Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) sub-commander and his aide surrendered to the headquarters of the 37th Infantry Battalion (37IB) at Camp Brig. Gen. Cesar Betita, Barangay, Tibpuan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

The surrenderers from Platoon Cherry Mobile of the Southern Regional Command (SRC) Daguma in the Far South Mindanao Region (FSMR) surrendered a 7.62 mm rifle and a Cal .30 Carbine M1 rifle.

The former militants’ surrender, according to 37IB Commander Lt. Col. Allen Van Estrera, is the outcome of a series of community outreach programs and focused military operations undertaken by Joint Task Force (JTF) Central forces.

Lt. Gen. Andres Centino, Army Commanding General and concurrent Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, praises the troops’ efforts. He reiterated the Philippine Army’s commitment to the government’s whole-of-nation approach to ending the conflict by President Rodrigo Duterte’s 2022 deadline.
