Western Command complies with and fully supports President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to designate November 29 to December 1, 2021 as “National Vaccination Days” in order to expedite the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to the populace outside the NCR, particularly in the province of Palawan and the city of Puerto Princesa.

Over the course of the three-day “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” campaign, WESCOM will give local government units and the provincial and city’s COVID-19’s vaccine cluster to facilitate vaccination efforts and speed the vaccination of unvaccinated individuals.

WESCOM, in collaboration with all stakeholders, mobilizes its units and personnel to support this campaign, as well as all local government health workers who have been mobilized to give vaccines.

WESCOM has also been enlisted to assist with this campaign by identifying vaccine deployment areas, providing transportation assets for the delivery and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, providing additional manpower for COVID-19 vaccine deployment – particularly in isolated and remote areas – and providing security for vaccine deployment sites.

“It is WESCOM’s ardent desire to support the national COVID-19 vaccination deployment and vaccination program, particularly here in Palawan that will help ensure that every Filipino will be vaccinated and soon be free from the hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Vice Admiral Ramil Roberto Enriquez PN, the Commander of WESCOM said.

The Palawan military has air, naval, and land capabilities capable of reliably and timely delivering and dispersing the COVID-19 vaccination across the province, including to geographically distant and remote places.

“WESCOM will deploy its vaccination teams with trained and qualified individuals in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas to ensure that no one will be left behind for this national COVID-19 vaccination program, in tandem with other local government agencies and bureaus to ensure that all Palawweños, even those residing in remote and/or isolated areas, will be vaccinated to revive the vigor of the province and the country in general,” Vice Admiral Enriquez added.

The “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” campaign is based on a “whole of society” approach to ensure that everyone can be reached and receive the COVID-19 vaccine. As a result, as part of this nationwide campaign, WESCOM encourages everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to become immune to COVID-19.
