The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Thursday, December 9, received firearms and accessories from Triton Defense and Logistics Inc. (TDLI) and LCS Group of Companies to boost its internal security and counter-terrorism efforts.

In a turnover ceremony inside Camp Aguinaldo, AFP Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Andres C. Centino PA and Secretary of the Department of National Defense Delfin Lorenzana accepted the donation from Mayor Luis Crisologo “Chavit” Singson, Chairman of the LCS Group of Companies.

“Today’s Ceremonial Turnover is indeed a significant milestone especially for the Armed Forces of the Philippines, as these donated firearms shall undoubtedly complement our firepower capability as we continue to sustain the gains of our internal security campaigns while equally supporting the government’s national development agenda,” Lt. Gen. Centino said.

A total of 41 firearms and accessories have been received and will be dispersed to different military units.

The assistance was made possible by a deed of donation signed by former AFP Chief of Staff General Jose Faustino Jr. and Mr. Randolf V. Singson, TDLI’s Chief Operating Officer, which was later approved and signed by Secretary Lorenzana.

The donation expressed the contributors’ gratitude to the AFP and their willingness to help the force fulfill its mission.

“I would like to thank you for accomplishing your tasks to help our government under the leadership of our President, Rodrigo Roa Duterte,” Mayor Singson stated.

The AFP Chief of Staff guaranteed the donors that their assistance will be put to good use.

“Be assured that we will take extraordinary measures to ensure that these equipment will be cared for and utilized to their maximum potential in fulfillment of the AFP’s constitutional mandate,” Lt. Gen. Centino concluded.
