PCG’s BRP Sindangan safely transported more than 500 LSIs affected by Typhoon Odette to Surigao City

BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407) safely transported over 500 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) to Surigao City as part of the Philippine Coast Guard’s ferry mission to assist locals affected by Typhoon Odette.

The PCG ferry mission assisted 250 inhabitants of the Dinagat Islands in getting to Surigao City fast, while the PCG transported up to 256 residents of Dapa, Siargao Island.

In the meantime, the PCG dispatched almost 80 military men from Surigao City to Dapa, Siargao Island, to help with the island’s recovery.
