In partnership with Tanging Yaman Foundation, the Civil Military Operations Unit – Central donated 1,000 Family Food Packs to typhoon-affected residents in Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte.

On the evening of December 24, 2021, Naval Forces Central dispatched its navy patrol craft, BRP Abraham Campo (PC396), to deliver the aforementioned family food packs.

They witnessed the aftermath of Typhoon Odette when they arrived on the island, which had severely devastated and impacted the inhabitants. Mayor Melchor Petracorta was represented by 1LT Larry Balolong PA of the 14IB, 8th Infantry Division, PA, who accepted the provided humanitarian materials.

PC396 also conducted area surveys on the islands of Dawahon, Bato, Leyte; Hingotanan, Bien Unido, Bohol; and Bilangbilangan, Bohol.

The Philippine Navy’s quick response to the afflicted municipalities in the Visayas demonstrates its dedication and commitment to serving the people, particularly in the areas struck by Super Typhoon Odette.
