CGPA inaugurates new isolation facility, golf course in 6ID

Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner, Jr., Commanding General of the Philippine Army (CGPA), oversaw the inauguration of a new isolation facility for the Army’s 6th Infantry Division on Friday, January 7, as he instructed troops to strictly follow health regulations amid the COVID-19 spike.

Lt. Gen. Brawner, BARMM Interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, Al Haj, and 6th Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, led the inauguration of a 60-bed, two-story isolation facility at Camp Brig. Gen. Gonzalo Siongco in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

The CGPA promised to improve Army medical treatment facilities to deliver world-class healthcare services to troops and their dependents in his “Talk to Troops” before the inauguration ceremony.

Meanwhile, the CGPA presided over the inauguration of 6ID’s new golf course at Camp Paulino Santos in Barangay Dado, Alamada, Cotabato, on January 8.

“The inauguration of a golf course is very rare. I am very happy to note that through the imagination and initiative of our 6th Infantry Division commander, we were able to achieve what we see today with minimal cost and resources to the government,” Lt. Gen. Brawner remarked.

According to Lt. Gen. Brawner, the 6ID golf course has three purposes: it helps to protect the Camp Paulino Santos military reservation, it develops military morale and welfare facilities that comply with health norms, and it helps the military produce revenue.
