Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., the Commanding General of the Philippine Army, praised the efforts of the 10th Infantry “Agila” Division (10ID) in demolishing the Sub Regional Committee 5, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SRC 5, SMRC).
The 10ID presented the 12 surrenderers from the SRC 5, SMRC to the police at a press conference on January 17, 2022. Former rebels, including the group’s top leaders, have been suffering from the consequences of their defeat at Kitaotao, Bukidnon. Menandro “Bok” Villanueva’s decapitation was also credited with the demise of terrorist groups in the 10ID’s regions of responsibility.
Lt. Gen. Brawner Jr. commended the troops on their achievement and praised them for their service to the Command.
