Philippine Army’s 84IB seizes firearms, ammunitions in Nueva Vizcaya

The 84th Infantry “Victorious” Battalion (84IB) of the Philippine Army, led by Lt. Col. Enrico Gil Ileto, confiscated different weaponry and ammunition in an authorized combat operation against the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) operating in Brgy. Lipuga, Alfonso Castañeda, Nueva Vizcaya on January 17, 2022.

Three M16 rifles, 614 cartridges of 5.56mm ball, 21 cartridges of 7.62mm ball, 11 5.56mm long steel magazine assembly, eight 5.56mm short steel magazine assembly, and three bandoliers were recovered by the troops after the operation.

Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., the Commanding General of the Philippine Army, praised the 84IB troopers for their work on Focused Military Operations, which resulted in a reduction in CTG members operating in their area of responsibility. The victory is vital for the command and the government’s campaign to rid the country of atrocities and local terrorists.
