The 57th Infantry Battalion (57IB) under the leadership of LTC Jonathan L. Pondanera INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer conducted the profiling of the 14 former violent extremists (FVEs) of BIFF-Karialan Faction who surrendered to this unit last December 3, 2021.
The 57IB conducted the said profiling together with the AGILA HAVEN (Ang Ginintuang Layunin, upang Hintuan Ang Violent Extremism Ngayon) staff headed by Mr. Roger Dionisio, Agila Haven Focal Person and Atty. Josephina Torreña, Provincial Legal Officer, Maguindanao Province.
On January 21, 2022, the profiling activity took place at Headquarters 57IB, Edwards Camp, Brgy Mirab, Upi, Maguindanao.
The AGILA HAVEN initiative uses profiling to assess and determine what actions, as well as financial assistance, the Maguindanao provincial government would deliver to the FVEs.
Similarly, the AGILA HAVEN initiative provided each FVE with a sack of food as well as cash aid as a starting point for their continuous development.
