All sailors in the Philippine Navy donated one day of their subsistence allowance worth P1.83 million to the families of those who died during the C-130 Hercules plane crash in Jolo, Sulu, last July 2021, as well as their colleagues who survived.

The 38 deceased soldiers’ next of kin and the 46 surviving will each get a portion of the donation. For its part, the donation has already been given to the Philippine Marine Corps.

In line with this, the PN Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Adm. Caesar Bernard Valencia representing the Flag Officer In Command, graced the Handover of Donation Ceremony hosted by the Philippine Army and presided by the Army chief of staff, Major Gen. Roberto Capulong at Silid Andres Bonifacio, HPA Admin Bldg., Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City on Friday, January 21.
