Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. reiterated his command guidance during a visit to the Army’s 7th Infantry Division headquarters in Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
In his “Talk to Troops,” Lt. Gen. Brawner emphasized his thrusts summarized in the acronym “SERVE.” The CGPA emphasized the importance of maintaining the physical and mental health of the “Soldiers.” The Army leadership shall also “Enhance” the skills of troops and unit competencies for them to be well-equipped, well-prepared, and well-trained, adding that the command will push down much-needed “Resources” to units to further capacitate them in mission accomplishment.
The CGPA emphasized that the three thrusts will enable the Army to emerge “Victorious” against threat groups, allowing troops to focus on ensuring orderly and peaceful “Elections” in May 2022.
“The style of leadership that we will apply while I am the CGPA is servant leadership. We will be servants to the needs of our operating units,” Lt. Gen. Brawner said in his remarks.
The CGPA vowed to provide units with support and resources to empower them in their sprint towards the June 2022 deadline set by the President Rodrigo Duterte, the country’s Commander-in-Chief, to eradicate insurgency and other threat groups.
